This place is called Deobandh Ganapati, because of the Deobandh river that flows through here in winding turns! The name of Deobandh does not appear on the map. The reason is that only a certain distance of the river has this name. The main river is Vaitarna. This tributary of Vaitarna, this river is called Pinjal (Deobandh). There is a bridge on this river near Khodala village. If you look to the right from the bridge, you can see a huge rock blocking half of the river in the riverbed. It does not fall from somewhere, but seems to have been placed on purpose. Since the gods built this dam, it is called ‘Deobandh’ by the tribals.
